INNOVADE will take part in the 4th Eumans Congress in Paris, contributing to a participatory session on Civic Artificial Intelligence and its role in strengthening democratic participation across Europe.

Eumans is a pan-European, citizen-driven movement that brings together policymakers, researchers, civil society, and engaged citizens to advance democracy, sustainability, and fundamental rights at the European level. Through its annual congresses and thematic communities, Eumans creates spaces for debate, co-creation, and collective action on pressing societal challenges.

Our contribution

During the session “For a European Civic Artificial Intelligence: what to do to ensure AI empowers citizens’ participation?”, INNOVADE will contribute a Living Lab–style participatory workshop, led by Fatih Yilmaz, Xenia Klinge, Adrian Forsström Norén, and Kevin Friesch. Building on the project’s research and co-creation approach, the session will invite participants to reflect on how AI-powered tools can support meaningful citizen participation while respecting democratic values, transparency, and inclusion.

The session combines expert input, practical use cases, and hands-on participation. Following introductory contributions on augmented democracy and civic AI applications, INNOVADE will engage participants in exploring how digital and AI-based tools can be designed to empower citizens rather than replace democratic processes.

By participating in the Eumans Congress, INNOVADE continues its commitment to open dialogue with citizens, practitioners, and policymakers, contributing research-based insights to broader European discussions on the future of digital democracy and civic AI.
