INNOVADE at the 3rd Conference of the European Network for Digital Democracy (EDDY2026)

The INNOVADE project team is pleased to announce its upcoming participation in EDDY 2026, the 3rd Conference of the European Network for Digital Democracy, taking place on 21 and 22 September 2026 at the Vienna University of Economics and Business in Austria.

This year's conference theme, Digital Democracy: Bridging Theory and Practice, focuses directly on connecting international researchers, public sector officials, and civic tech practitioners. By establishing a direct dialogue between scientific investigation and operational civic technology, EDDY 2026 provides a platform to address the traditional silos that separate academic inquiry from hands-on democratic innovation.

Interactive Demonstration of the Digital Democracy App

As part of the conference's dedicated Demos Track, the INNOVADE team will deliver a demonstration of the INNOVADE Digital Democracy App. Designed as a modular, open-core software framework, the application provides local administrations and civil society organisations with a flexible, secure, and transparent environment for citizen engagement.

The showcase will highlight how the platform integrates core democratic functionality, including transparent deliberation workflows, robust GDPR accountability, alignment with European electronic identification standards and ethical AI governance controls. The team will also demonstrate how the application is engineered to support hybrid participation, ensuring that digital tools work in harmony with offline municipal engagement channels.

Bridging Research and Practical Deployment

Participating in the EDDY 2026 Demos Track offers a vital opportunity to gather expert feedback from European specialists in digital governance, computational social choice, and civic participation. This exchange comes at an important phase for INNOVADE, as the consortium prepares to validate its software suite through real-world municipal pilot deployments in Geel, San Martín de la Vega, and Thessaloniki.
