Advancing Digital Democracy: INNOVADE Presents at Digital Democracy The Hague 2025

Digital Democracy The Hague (9–10 October 2025) will gather 500 practitioners, policymakers, and academics to explore how digital tools can strengthen inclusive and meaningful citizen participation. Hosted in the Netherlands, the event features keynotes, panels, workshops, and case studies that bridge theory and practice. INNOVADE’s presence in the academic track underlines the project’s commitment to fostering interdisciplinary dialogue on digital governance, citizen empowerment, and democratic innovation.
The INNOVADE Contribution:
In its session “Innovative Democracy through Digitalisation: Interdisciplinary Knowledge Base Introduction” (10 October, 14:00–15:30, Academic Track, Commission Hall), the INNOVADE team: Fatih Yilmaz, Laurien Coenen, and Joel Museba, will present the project’s latest insights and results.
The presentation will highlight:
- An interdisciplinary knowledge base on the state of the art in digital democracy, mapping current practices, future trends, and emerging challenges.
- Panel discussion on “Digital Democracy and Policy-Making” – A discussion on how digital democracy tools and frameworks can meaningfully inform and transform policymaking across Europe.
By combining historical analysis, transnational cooperation, and civic tech experimentation, INNOVADE delivers scalable and replicable solutions for e-participation. Our work aims to expand citizen engagement, improve government accountability and transparency, and build stronger trust between institutions and the public.
